Experts at detecting mold then developing and monitoring plans for its efficient, cost-effective removal
We know how to uncover and plan for the eradication of mold hazards. Almost 40 years of experience in detecting microbiologic contaminants across a variety of settings has made us experts not just in how to find it but also in creating plans to efficiently remove it from almost any environment in a cost-effective manner.
Concern about indoor exposure to mold and other microbiologicals has been increasing in recent years as the public becomes more aware that exposure can cause a variety of health effects and symptoms. While mold itself is not toxic, certain molds, such as Stachybotrys chartarum produce mycotoxins which have been linked with upper respiratory tract symptoms, cough, and wheeze in otherwise healthy people, hypersensitivity pneumonitis in individuals susceptible to that condition, respiratory illness in otherwise healthy children and, potentially, the development of asthma in some children, particularly those who may be genetically susceptible.
While the presence of mold can be generally alarming and a cause for concern, it is particularly troubling for businesses or organizations in the food and beverage industry. As employers, they have the legal responsibility to protect their staff from anything that may be potentially harmful and, as an establishment serving food or drink, they need to ensure that the appropriate hygiene standards are met.
We know detecting and then eliminating the presence of mold or other microbiological hazards in a building can have serious implications beyond the obvious health concerns. Building usability and financial issues all come into play, as do legal issues.
In fact, a 2016 expansion in New York State mold regulations stipulates the use of trained and licensed service providers to assess and eradicate indoor mold. Our mold inspectors are fully-trained and carry all the required licenses to assess and detect for the presence of mold.
Moreover, Adelaide follows the guidelines developed by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to diagnose the problem through sampling and visual inspections. Our team of management planners will develop a remediation approach and monitor the abatement. We then provide consulting on how to preclude recurrence.
